| To say Utah dominated Georgia Tech in the 2005 Emerald Bowl would be an understatement. Utah held the lead for the entire game and never let up, shutting the Yellow Jackets out in the second half. Utah also exhausted Tech's vaunted D, racking up 550 total yards and giving the Jackets its worst bowl loss in program history. The Utes won 38-10.

| Boise State to replace Ohio on 2006 football schedule. |
The Utah Athletic Department is reporting that the University of Utah will replace Ohio with Boise State on this season's upcoming schedule.
Ohio had been scheduled to play the Utes on 9/29/06, but the Bobcats pulled out of their deal with Utah instead, deciding to schedule University of Tennessee - Martin.
Boise State and Utah will meet on Saturday, September 30th, 2006 at Rice-Eccles Stadium. This will be the first meeting since Boise State beat Utah 26-20 in 1999.
The Broncos will have an entirely new coaching staff, as Dan Hawkins left BSU for Colorado late last year. He was replaced by Boise State offensive coordinator Chris Petersen, one of the architects behind the Broncos' explosive offense. Both teams will meet again in 2011 (Boise), 2012 (Salt Lake City) and 2013 (Boise). |
